Karen Sue Sprouse

     Mrs. Karen Sue Sprouse of Bridgeport, WV passed away on Tuesday at Country Living Personal Care Home in Jane Lew, WV.  She was born September 3, 1940 the daughter of the late Paul Albert and Kathleen Worcester Bastin.  She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald E. Sprouse in 2016.    
     She is survived by three sons, Mark Sprouse and his wife Gayle of Salem, WV and their children Danielle and Kayla, Brad Sprouse and his wife Jennifer of Bridgeport, WV and their children Derek, Tyler and Ryan and Doug Sprouse and his wife Kimberly of Bridgeport, WV and their children Eric, Audrie and Avery; a daughter, Kristin Watson and her husband Mike of Columbus, OH and their children Jared and Olivia; a sister, Joyce Ann King and her husband Evans of Clarksburg, WV and a sister-in-law,  Nancy Bastin of Bristol, WV.  She was also preceded in death by a brother Paul “Sonny” Bastin
     Karen graduated from Victory High School in 1958.  On August 8, 1959, she married her husband Ron and they had a wonderful marriage for fifty-six years.  She was a loving wife and mother and made family her passion.  Family dinners, traveling with family and friends and being involved with her grandchildren made her the most happy. 
     She enjoyed working for several years for Consolidated Natural Gas and then assisted her husband establishing NuTone Hearing Aid Center in 1993.  She was a member of Bridgeport United Methodist Church. 
     The family request donations be made in Karen’s memory to Bridgeport United Methodist Church, 251 Worthington Drive, Bridgeport, WV 26330.
     Friends will be received at the Ford Funeral Home, 215 East Main Street, Bridgeport, WV on Thursday from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM and on Friday at Bridgeport United Methodist Church, 251 Worthington Drive, Bridgeport, WV from 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM.  The funeral service will be celebrated at the church on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Reverend Dr. Ken A. Ramsey presiding.  The entombment will follow in the Bridgeport Cemetery, Bridgeport, WV.
